On 16 December 2025, BusConnects Dublin Infrastructure Head Aidan Gallagher joined Helen Desbois on Good Morning Dublin to discuss progress across the BusConnects Dublin Core Bus Corridors programme, particularly update the city on the coming Ballymun/Finglas to City Centre scheme.

The discussion took place following the signing of the Schemes construction contract, which has been awarded to GRAHAM. This signing marks a key milestone for the programme and will deliver significant improvements to bus reliability and capacity along 22 kilometres of Core Bus Corridors, as well as enhanced walking and cycling infrastructure.

Mr Gallagher also provided an update on the Liffey Valley to City Centre scheme, noting that works are now starting, following the completion of recent site investigation works. This scheme will run from Fonthill Road into the city centre and will be the first of the twelve Core Bus Corridors to move into construction.

Representing a once-in-a-generation investment in Dublin’s public transport network, the BusConnects programme will deliver faster and more reliable bus journeys, increased service frequency, and improved facilities for pedestrians and cyclists, supporting a more sustainable and connected city.
