On 16 September 2025, BusConnects Dublin Infrastructure Head Aidan Gallagher joined Helen Debois on Good Morning Dublin to discuss the delivery of the BusConnects Dublin Core Bus Corridors. The interview highlighted progress on the Liffey Valley to City Centre scheme, the first of twelve corridors to move into construction.
Mr Gallagher confirmed that site investigations are now under way on the Liffey Valley scheme, which will run 9.2 kilometres from Fonthill Road into the city centre. It was recently announced that trusted Irish company, GMC Utilities Group Ltd. were appointed to deliver the scheme.
Aptly referred to as a “once-in-a-generation” upgrade to Dublin public transport network, the programme will bring long-term benefits including improved bus journey times, increased frequency, and new facilities for cycling and walking. Local communities will be kept informed through dedicated engagement channels as works progress.
Looking ahead, the Ballymun/Finglas to City Centre scheme is scheduled to follow Liffey Valley as the next corridor to begin construction. To listen to the full interview, check out the link below.
